The Role of Computational Modeling to Support Decision Making for the Introduction of New Vaccines

A working group of 30 policy makers, modelers and industry representatives convened in Belém, Brazil on October 23, 2014 to discuss the use of modeling for the vaccine introduction decision process. The working group discussed the use of modeling for vaccine introduction in general, but with a specific focus on the forthcoming dengue vaccine including challenges, knowledge gaps, efficacy and how computational models can assist policy makers in evaluating possible population level effects of vaccines with varying efficacy profiles
